Both Amy + Kel celebrated their day with love, light and a big ol’ party celebration amongst their closest family and friends. What a stunner of a day, a heartfelt carefree couple and a brilliant team all pulling in their finest talents to ensure their day would be one to be remembered, held at The Budgie Smuggler in Ringwood.

I’ve been in the wedding industry for quite a while now, and have seen pretty much everything. By far, this is my favourite type of wedding. Firstly, both Amy + Kel opted to celebrate their way (defying some traditions which are a hallmark for most wedding celebrations). They opted to have a first look so they could spend the majority of the time after the ceremony with the people they care about. They had minimal formalities during the reception so it would not interrupt the general flow of mingling, socialising and guests could chill out and enjoy themselves. And, perhaps the most important thing of all – throughout the entire day, both Amy + Kel were totally chilled, loving all the wedding vibes and simply enjoying every moment.

These are the ingredients for a great day!

Working alongside the delightful Sarah Godenzi Photography was such a treat – I’ve been wanting to work alongside this talented human for quite a while now. We started with preparations of both Amy + Kel at their respective houses, as Amy was underway with hair and makeup by Carla Dyson, before getting into her Bridal Tailors dress, complemented with flowers by Floral Architecture. Kel soon dressed up to the nines in his Briggins Suit, getting ready on site at A Loft in the Mill in Olinda, where the first look would soon take place.

After making a detour to Rj Hamer Arboretum (with an eventful experience with the park ranger), we all soon headed to The Budgie Smuggler in Ringwood for the official proceedings to begin.

Wow. What a place. Again, a venue I’ve wanted to work at for ages, and it lived up to its hype. The staff are all absolutely wonderful and helpful, which makes it super easy to capture the industrial warehouse vibes with great food, drinks flowing and conversation aplenty.

Our fav Kate Haley soon rocked up, and commenced the short and sweet ceremony, as Amy + Kel opted for traditional vows, before a kiss marking their start to life as husband and wife.

Heading off at golden hour to Ringwood Lake provided a worthy exercise, as both Sarah + I basked in the heavenly glow of the sunset capturing Amy + Kel in their element.

The night kicked on with celebrations, and kicker tunes by talent Sarah Rzek and DJ Scotty ensuring all were making the most of the dancefloor and the awesome celebration.

Thanks so much, Amy + Kel. You both rock.
