The story of Lisa + Darryl commenced when they met each other at Deniliquin Matchmaker Festival weekend in March 2013. Armed with their respective tribes and after a few drinks of encouragement, they entered the gates with excitement. After Darryl and the boys heard Lisa + the girls on the radio (they were the only group wearing hats), the group soon hit it off. Lisa did a double-take noticing Darryl and that was it… fate was sealed. As Lisa put it “Darryl had already made my heart beat faster, I never believed in a love at first sight moment until I met Darryl”. This was their beginning.
With two years in the planning, their wedding day was one event they were looking forward to for what seemed eternity. And boy, it delivered. In every exceptional way. Throughout the entire day, you couldn’t wipe a smile off Lisa + Darryl’s family, as they finally became husband and wife after a relationship which included 2 years of being long distance. From the moment of my first phone call with Lisa, I knew that their wedding would be something special. The emotion in her voice as she told me what the wedding means to her, and having her son – Zac – walk her down the isle… this was going to be a special heartwarming story to capture.
The day commenced at Moama on the Murray Resort where both Darryl and Lisa spent a chilled out morning with their bridal parties. As Sarah from Sublime Mobile Hair & Makeup pampered the ladies, the boys suited up in their Numanz suits, before unveiling Lisa’s surprise to Darryl… his dream car to arrive to the ceremony. You couldn’t wipe a smile off his face. Lisa looked absolutely exquisite in her Romeo Bastone Couture dress, complimented by florals by Riverport Florist.
As guests arrived at Echuca Wharf, Lisa soon made her grand entrance escorted by her son, Zac – such a sweet moment. Our good friend Ash from Style by Ashleigh K styled the ceremony which looked absolutely amazing. As Father John Tink officiated a heartfelt ceremony, at the pivotal moment – rain pelted down, but only for a brief moment. With a kiss, a new husband and wife were announced as all soon moved onto two paddle steamers for a leisurely cruise down the Murray River.
Working alongside the amazing Cindy Power Photography, capturing the natural love and candidness between Lisa + Darryl was a breeze. So much love in this family.
As the day wound into night, Moama Bowling Club set the scene for their reception, with Soulplay pumping the beats for the dance floor, and a delicious cake by Tracey’s Cakes. Lisa + Darryl put on a show for their first dance – keep your eyes open soon for the full version of their dance.
Thanks Lisa + Darryl for entrusting us to capture your special day through film. You both are amazing people and it shines immensely through this film.
