Ahh, where do I begin to describe the most perfect day that was had at Lauren + James’ wedding? Time, as it seems to often do, flies by so quickly – as it only seems just yesterday I met Lauren + James at The Coffee Club alongside their photographer and my good friend, Beth (Emotif Photography). It was a slightly cool night in June and a few weeks later, I was preparing to head off overseas for a 4-month stint in Portland, Oregon.

What I remember vividly about this night; the first meeting with Lauren + James discussing their wedding plans and hopes – was just how relaxed, easy going and beyond friendly they both were. Chatting with them both is so easy, and I was really looking forward to their special day. Lauren first met me a few years prior at her sister Alyson’s wedding – it was so amazing to reconnect with the whole Marriott family once again.

You couldn’t have asked for a more brighter, picturesque day. From dusk until dawn, absolutely perfect weather wise conditions – Lauren and James were blessed by the weather gods, given Melbourne’s unpredictability with often four seasons in one day.

Preparations were off to a leisurely start as Lauren + James were getting ready alongside their respective bridal party and family members at Lochiel in Olinda. Whilst the boys got ready in their Connor attire, the girls were pampered by Ash Glamour Makeup + hair by Lisa Gould. Speaking with Lauren + James for their pre-interviews, you could really feel the love and admiration they have for one another in the words they spoke, and cards they exchanged. Lauren looked stunning in her dress, as it was time to make her grand reveal to her parents and bridesmaids – all of which exuded happy tears and love.

Onto Lyrebird Falls (located in the heart of the Dandenongs), family and friends made their arrivals greeting James, of whom couldn’t wipe a smile off his face for the duration of the day. As Lauren made her grand entrance – Dudley Raine officiated a relaxed and humorous ceremony. With a kiss, a new Mr & Mrs was announced and thus kick-started a brilliant arvo of laughter, fun and frivolity.

Lauren + James… words cannot express how thankful I am to know you both and what an absolute joy it has been to get to know you and capture your special day. Hopefully, by the time you are reading this, you are still on your amazing honeymoon in the states living the dream and I’m so looking forward to catching up on your return. Lucky ducks.
