The story begins (at least for me), back in April 2016… when I met with Jenelle + Chris at one of my favorite places, The Firehouse, where we had a lovely chat about their plans for their upcoming wedding at Log Cabin Ranch in Monbulk.
Normally in the first few minutes of a meeting you can really get the sense of what a wedding day will be like — and within a few short seconds, I knew that this wedding would be one which would be etched into my mind for years to come.
A blank canvas for a location where they could inject their personal flavor into every inch of the property; two gorgeous personalities who weren’t afraid to have a laugh and leave the stresses of planning a wedding behind… this wedding day would surely be epic, amazing and full of love, light and colour. And that it was.
I invite you to sit down with a warm cuppa and immerse yourselves in #happilyevercollins … Nestled amongst the greenery and tranquility of the Dandenong Rangers, The Log Cabin Ranch was the perfect setting for a full on DIY wedding, where preparations began the day before with setup by family and friends.
The morning of the big day commenced with Chris and the boys unwinding with a trim and cutthroat shave at Bossman Barbers, before preparations began shortly after at LCR, dressed in RDX shirts rocking bow ties by Bowzie Ties. Jenelle and the girls enjoyed a leisurely morning, with makeup by Tegan Bell and flowers by Chloe Lashay Florist. Jenelle looked absolutely breathtaking in her Raffaele Ciuca dress as she made her first reveal to her proud parents – tears of happiness were flowing – such a sweet moment to capture.
You couldn’t have asked for a better day weather wise (a sheer contrast to the 24 hours before hand), guests were treated to a little buggy ride up the driveway of Log Cabin Ranch as they entered the stunning stables, where Civil Celebrant Kate Haley officiated a heartfelt ceremony. You can certainly see why Kate was recently crowned Brides Choice for best Celebrant in Yarra Valley – the happiness transpires throughout every one of her ceremonies.
We were so fortunate to work alongside legend Corey Wright Photography who was fantastic to capture alongside – it’s so great when you have a photo/video combo which compliments each other and our prime focus is to capture some stunning imagery for our couples.
Jenelle + Chris’ wedfest was populated by some of the most scrumptious Yarra Valley suppliers, satisfying the tastebuds of their guests and friends… food trucks rolled in from all angles as Happy Camper Pizza, The Wondering Woodsman, Street Feast and Boho Booms Paella all served up a storm filling the bellies of family and friends with their deliciousness and sweetness.
By nightfall, guests were unwinding and partying it up listening to the tunes of Yomama Band and chilling out on amazing vintage couches provided by our friends at One Big Day Event Hire. The night continued as formalities were conducted under the night stars as guests celebrated long into the night!
Jenelle + Chris… what can I say? Thank you xx
