Em + Cal. Phillip Island

What a wild one!

I've been patiently waiting for a wedding on Phillip Island for years - having practically grown up with family and friends at our holiday house in Ventnor, so I was beyond thrilled to meet Emma + Cal at last years Valley Loves wedding fair where we hit it off straight away. Teaming up alongside my good mate, Michael Briggs Photography, we were all set for a weekend on the Island capturing this amazing couple getting hitched.

The days before the wedding were absolutely gorgeous. Pristine conditions. Then came the thunder. And lightning, wild winds and the rain. You can plan and plan for months on how a wedding day will flow - but one thing you can't depend on is the weather. To Em + Cal's credit, they embraced it and we all had a stellar of a day (albeit getting a bit wet).

Cal + the boys were lazing about at their Airbnb in Cowes on our arrival, prepping for a cooked brekkie before getting suited up looking mighty dapper. The energy was high at Em's preparations, with hair and makeup well underway by Arielle Wray Beauty + Nia Bell Hair Artistry. After the gift exchange, Em slipped into her gorgeous gown by The Bridal Atelier (blooms by cudabrothers).

With the wild weather, the location of the first look was shifted at the 11th hour to the decking at Em's preparations - before we all jumped in the kombi (Samba Kombi Services) and headed down to the originally planned location onsite for some windswept pics and snaps.

The ceremony was at Trenavin Chapel - set on a beautiful 85 acres of farmland - and whilst the rain was pouring all through the ceremony - all guests and bridal party were huddled under clear white umbrellas as John Murphy officiated a heartfelt ceremony, formally pronouncing Em + Cal as husband and wife.

Before we knew it, we were off to the reception - The Cape Kitchen. It was at this precise moment the rain held off for a brief moment and Em + Cal finally got their sunset shots with the roaring ocean in the background making for some dramatic and epic shots for pics and film.

What a spectacular wild day. Thank you so much Em + Cal... I don't think my equipment has ever been that wet before, nor have I ever been soaked out to the degree I had been at your special day - but it was absolutely epic and I enjoyed every second!
