When filming a wedding day doesn’t feel like “work” for the entire day… you know it was a stellar of a celebration.
Every once in a while, you come across a couple who are so darn amazing and down to earth – entrusting you completely and their team is full of legends that work together seamlessly and everything just runs to perfection… this was one of those days and I felt ever so lucky to capture the celebrations of Sophie + Josh.
These two were chilled AF, super happy and had the best time alongside their closest friends and family – this is what a wedding is all about. They lived for the moment, weren’t bogged down by wedding planning politics and had the best day right through to an epic dance party at their reception.
Sophie + Josh had their first date back in February 2014 – with an instant connection and a trip to the USA within the first two months of their relationship, and then moving in together by July of that same year… well, the rest as they say was history.
Their day kick started with some chilled out preparations for Sophie, Josh and their respective wedding parties. Sophie looked absolutely exquisite in her Jane Hill Bridal dress – complimented perfectly with florals by Blossom Boy Flowers (makeup by the delightful Courtney Whelan Make-Up).
With their ceremony and reception onside at the Royal Botanic Gardens in CBD Melbourne, the sun was shining and the temperature was just right as friends and family gathered to see Sophie + Josh wed on the Taxodium Lawn – officiated by the delightful Meredith Crookes Celebrant (what a dead set legend).
Chasing the light alongside the man himself, Glen Nicholls Photography – what an absolute blast of a day it was to work alongside this talent and legend. So easy going, filled with great banter and laughs – this is the guy you want to hang with on your day of days.
Thanks for a great day, Sophie + Josh.
